General Objective

The project LDA-NEXT – Empowering Local Development Agents for a Cohesive Europe aims to strengthen the role of local development agents and agencies across Europe, particularly in rural and remote territories. To achieve this, it seeks to enhance their professional competences, identify good practices, and develop shared tools that support their work. The project also aims to foster cooperation among European organisations and promote the institutional recognition of these professionals within territorial governance structures. Through the creation of a European roadmap and a collaborative network, LDA-NEXT aims to reinforce the impact of local development on economic growth, social cohesion, and the sustainability of territories.

Specific Objectives

  • Identify good practices and successful models in local development across Europe and develop a competence framework to strengthen the training and professional development of Local Development Agents.
  • Create a European network of local development professionals and agencies to facilitate knowledge exchange, cooperation between territories, and mutual learning.
  • Promote the institutional recognition of Local Development Agents and their agencies, supporting their integration into territorial development strategies and strengthening their role in local public policies.
