INDA Iniciativas took part in a European meeting on local and rural development in Costa da Morte
On 5 and 6 October 2026, INDA Iniciativas took part in a European meeting on local and rural development held in Muxía (Spain), as part of the LDA-NEXT project – Empowering Local Development Agents for a Cohesive Europe, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
The meeting, organised by AFIPRODEL, also brought together the Italian organisations LIMEUP and ISPAL, which are project partners alongside INDA Iniciativas. Over the two days, the programme combined working sessions on the role of local development agents (LDAs), an exchange of experiences and visits to examples of good practice in the Costa da Morte area.
Monday morning was devoted to a transnational workshop on the roles, challenges and contribution of LDAs to territorial development; the workshop featured a presentation on the project’s progress and the preliminary results of the analysis of good practices. The first part took place in a hybrid format, to facilitate the participation of other Galician and Italian organisations, and included an interactive session for sharing experiences and a question-and-answer session.
The programme continued in person, with presentations by various public authorities and key stakeholders involved in local territorial development, with the aim of sharing perspectives on the role of local development agents and strengthening cooperation between the different organisations involved.
In the afternoon, INDA Iniciativas took part, alongside the other partners, in the second meeting of the LDA-NEXT Steering Committee, during which the results achieved to date were reviewed and the project’s next steps were planned.
In addition to the working sessions, the participating organisations had the opportunity to learn about local and rural development initiatives in the Costa da Morte. On Monday, they visited Bela Muxía and Abrumar and followed part of the Ruta do Percebe (Barnacle Route) to the Virxe da Barca sanctuary. On Tuesday, further visits were organised to examples of best practice and iconic sites in the region.
INDA Iniciativas’ participation in this event has helped to strengthen cooperation between Galicia and Italy, promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences, and advance the recognition and strengthening of the role of local development actors in Europe, whilst also highlighting the cultural, tourist and rural potential of the Costa da Morte.
